Lee Roy Selmon's life includes football scholarship, family work as well as community involvement. The first is his family. Lucious Selmon was the father of Jessie Selmon. They raised nine children in a Eufala farm. Two soccer. He was one of three brothers who participated in the football team of Oklahoma. The three brothers all made All-America. Lucious Jr. Dewey was a starter for the entire 1973 season. Lee Roy has won both the Outland Award and the Lombardi award as the top lineman in America. Over the course of three seasons, Roy was on the field, Oklahoma won two National Championships. The third scholarship was awarded to him. He was a National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete in 1975. Selmon was awarded a degree from education. Lee Roy dedicated ten volunteer times a week in the college. He moved to Tampa after college, playing for the Buccaneers for a period of nine years, and was three-times all-pro. His business career began. In 1988, as an account relations officer at First Florida Bank of Tampa He was a member of the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. He was no surprise that In 1982, The Junior Chamber of Commerce named Lee Roy among the top 10 outstanding youngsters across the nation. Lee Roy weighed 256 lbs and stood at a height of 7-foot-2. When he was playing college, he commanded the team of 1975. Lee Roy joined the University of South Florida in 1993 as an associate director of sports. He was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1993 by his fellow members of the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame of 1994 as well as by the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. In 1989 the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation gave its Distinguished American Award, to Mr. Lucious Selmon and his wife.
